Breathwork

What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is a deep practice that takes you inward. Through conscious connected breathing, a continuous rhythmic breath with no pause between the inhale and the exhale, you flood the body with oxygen and your nervous system shifts into something quieter and more alive.

The thinking mind steps aside. Energy moves differently. You drop into a state of presence that normal meditation can take years to reach. And in that space, things you've been carrying for a long time, old feelings, unprocessed events, weight you didn't know you were still holding, finally find somewhere to land.

It's not magic. It's just your breath, used with intention.

What you might experience

Every session is different. Some people feel deep calm. Some feel emotions rising and releasing. Some experience tingling in the hands, feet or face, which is completely normal and a sign the body is responding. Some cry. Some laugh. Some feel nothing at all the first time, and everything the second.

What almost everyone feels afterwards is lighter. More present. More like themselves.

There is no right experience. There is only yours.

Why I do this

In 2021 I was hospitalised and diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I was supposed to be in the prime of my life and instead I had hit a complete dead end. That was the moment everything changed.

What followed was five years of rebuilding, from the inside out. I trained as a yoga teacher in the Vanadurga Ashram deep in the jungle of San Rafael, Colombia. I travelled wherever the wind took me. I kept going inward, kept learning, kept shedding what no longer belonged to me.

Breathwork was the practice that cracked something open that nothing else could reach. It gave me access to parts of myself I had buried, emotions I had avoided, a stillness I hadn't known in years. I didn't come to this work through ambition. I came through necessity, and stayed because of what it kept giving back.

I'm not here as a guru. I'm here as someone who went through the fire, found something that genuinely helps, and wants to share it. Every session I facilitate is an act of gratitude for my own healing.

A session with me

We start gently. A short grounding, a bit of explanation, so you know what's coming and feel ready. Then we move into conscious connected breathing, and from there we go on a journey together.

I don't follow a fixed script. I pay attention to what you need and adapt as we go. Sometimes that means holding space quietly. Sometimes it means guiding you more actively. My job is to stay grounded so that you can feel safe enough to let go.

When the breathing is done, we take time to integrate. Through conversation, journalling, or whatever feels right. The intention is always the same: to bring what happened inside, out into the open.

Sessions are available online and in person.

Integration: where the real work happens

The breathwork itself is just the beginning.

Very often when we go through difficult experiences, they don't find a place to rest in us. They stay lodged somewhere in the body, unprocessed, waiting. Breathwork brings them to the surface. Integration is what helps them land.

After every session we take time to sit with what came up. Through sharing, through conversation, through simply being heard without judgement or anyone trying to fix you. In that space something quietly shifts. You start to make friends with the parts of yourself that are hardest to face. You discover that authenticity and belonging can exist in the same place at the same time.

No performance. No fixing. Just expression, and the profound relief of being received exactly as you are.

This is why community matters so much in this work. Healing doesn't happen in isolation. It happens in the presence of others who are willing to show up honestly alongside you.

Durim made me feel comfortable to try new things through his open-hearted, respectful, and joyful facilitation. I loved the focus on meaningful connection with both yourself and others, which for me created a deep sense of inner peace, love, and oneness with the world.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Typically 60 to 75 minutes, including the grounding, the breathwork itself, and integration afterwards.

  • None at all. Most people who come to their first session have never done breathwork before.

  • Yes. Online sessions work beautifully. All you need is a stable internet connection, a quiet space, and somewhere comfortable to lie down.

  • For most people, yes. Breathwork is a natural, non-invasive practice with no substances involved. That said, it is not recommended if you are pregnant, have a history of cardiovascular conditions, epilepsy, or severe untreated trauma. If you're unsure, please check with your doctor before booking. Your safety is always the first priority.

  • Wear something comfortable. Avoid a heavy meal in the two hours before. Find a quiet space where you won't be disturbed, and bring a blanket if you have one.

Afterwards, take it easy. Drink water. Give yourself some time before jumping back into the day. What comes up in a session sometimes keeps unfolding for hours afterwards.

  • You are always in control. You can slow down or stop the breath at any point. I will be with you the whole time and will guide you through anything that comes up.

  • One session is enough to feel something real. Most people find that three to five sessions is where deeper patterns begin to shift. After that it becomes a practice rather than an experience.

  • A single session can shift something. But the real depth comes with consistency. Over time breathwork becomes a practice that changes how you relate to yourself, to others, and to life. That's what the community I'm building is about: a group of people who want to keep going, keep growing, and keep breathing together. The membership is coming soon. If that resonates, book a free session and let's start there.
